He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mobley Stanley and Martha Hodges Stanley Vancel; and his brother Charles Stanley. He is survived by: his fiancée Deborah Osborne; his brothers, Lewis Vancel (Melody) of Indiana and Harold Vancel of Jefferson, GA.; his nephew John A. Stanley; his aunt Helen Medlin; and his cousins, Fundy Stewart, David Spivey and Nancy Medlin Bailey.
