He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Garland and Frances Tollison Garland; his wife Mildred Clance; and his brother Franklin Garland. He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Gibson of Milledgeville and Ashley Garland (David Matos) of Florida; his grandchildren, Sophia Gibson, Crystal Garland, Gabriel Matos and Mia Matos; his sister Linda Garland; and his sister-in-law Lisa Long (Rick).
