He is survived by: his wife Deborah Gravitt Gabrels; his daughter Candy; his son-in-law Chad L. Wade of Mt. Airy; his son Derek; his daughter-in-law Sherri Gabrels of Clarkesville; and his brother J. D. (Winnie Gabrels). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
