He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Joseph Griffin Sr. and Katie Lou Durden Griffin; his wife Ruby Griffin; his daughter Tina Griffin; and his grandson Dylan Griffin.

He is survived by: his children, Angie Branstrom (Mark) of Macon, Summer Elson of Eatonton and Marty Griffin (Sheila) of Milledgeville; his sisters, Joann Lavender and Eloise Griffin of Milledgeville; and his close friend Zimmy Knowles. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
