Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved William Ponder (Bainbridge, Georgia), born in Cairo, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 79, on May 6, 2020. He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Ponder and Mattie Lou Boutwell Ponder; his wife Laverne Pinion Ponder; and his brothers, Abner Ponder, Paul Ponder and Danny Ponder.
He is survived by: his children, Darren, Lisa Ponder of Bainbridge, GA, Reggie, Stacie Ponder of Bainbridge, Samantha and Phillip Green of Thomasville, GA; his siblings, Benson (Rosa Ponder), Mattie (Roy Adams), Faye (Leo Dozier), Joe Ponder (Cleo) and Charles (Teanna Ponder); his grandchildren, Colby, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Brandon, Bradlee, Matthew and Miles; and his great grandchildren, Mallory, Makenzie, Marley, Gracen and Bryson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside funeral service will be held at Franklin Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gwan Garrison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 189 Robin Lane, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
