It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Missionary Geraldine Peterson (Bainbridge, Georgia), born in Boston, Georgia, who passed away on September 29, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Staten, Sr. and Mattie Staten; and her husband Deacon Airfonzie Peterson, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, LaVerne Peterson, Shelia Rena Jones (Rosby) and Airfonzie Peterson, Jr. (Shirley); her grandchildren, Airfonzie Peterson III, Chariot Tashianna Peterson and Ja'dehn Williams; her siblings, Jerealine Holmes, Essie Mae Ross, Peggy Smith (Smitty), Ira Staten (Josie) and Reverend Elize Staten; and her sister-in-law Ruby Douglas Peterson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren.
