He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Higdon and Stella Dekle Milton Higdon; and his brother Bobby Higdon. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Brooks Higdon; his sons, Joseph Milton Higdon, Jr. of Bainbridge, GA and James Robert Higdon of Bainbridge, GA; and his sisters, Nell H. Scrantom (Bill) of Columbus, GA and Jane McLendon (Bobby) of Blakely, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
