With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny Strickland Newton of Bainbridge, Georgia, who passed away on August 31, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Justice Newton, Sr. and Annie Dell Strickland Newton; and his siblings, Eloise Pittman and Alton Newton. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Newton; his daughters, Kelley Ausley (Dan) of Tallahassee, FL, Lisa Ariail (Chip) of Bainbridge, GA and Amy Woodard (Bill) of St. Johns, FL; his grandchildren, Savannah, Maya, Alexa Ausley, Chase, Ben and Taylor Woodard; and his parents-in-law, Jim Shepard, Mike Shepard, Jo Ann Bono and Kathy Turley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
