He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Mitchell and Kate Kellet Mitchell; his wife Martha Wilson Mitchell; and his daughter Kathryn E. Mitchell. He is survived by: his son James O. Mitchell, Jr. of Tallahassee; and his grandsons, Evan Mitchell and Austin Mitchell of Tallahassee.
