He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen McAfee Howell and Maude Crosby Howell; his wife Helen H. Howell; and his siblings, Effie Lasseter, Lucille Cowart, Ethel Lasseter, Glen Howell and Dorothy Lindsey.
He is survived by: his children, Hugh D. Howell, Jr. of Bainbridge, Donna H. Maloy (Chuck) of Climax and Theresa Ritter (Danny); his grandchildren, Ryan, Marissa Maloy, Lacey, Levi Crawford, Autumn Howell and Christina Ritter; his great grandchildren, Annaca Maloy, Layden Crawford and Lincoln Crawford; and his child Lalla Cloud. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
