He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton Ray and Sudie Irene Elders Dodson; his wife Juanita Glover Dodson; his son Rufus I. Dodson; and his siblings, Tom Dodson, Walter Dodson, Louise Musslewhite, Margarite Sheffer and Betty Youngblood Stafford.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Dodson (Linda) of Bainbridge and Carolyn D. Reynolds (Roy) of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Brian, Teresa Dodson, Kevin Dodson, Rhonda Manley, Laci, Danny Moore and Colby Dodson; and his great grandchildren, Reese, Bowen, Chloe, Quinn, Chase, Devin and Justin.
