He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Floyd Atkinson and Ellene Willis Atkinson; his wife Charlotte L. Atkinson; his children, Tina Sims (Frank) of Destin, FL, Shane Atkinson (Jessica) of Ft. Walton, FL, Jessica Atkinson Hart (Jason) of Bainbridge, GA and Jeremy Atkinson (Jenna); his siblings, Carol, Lenard Hirsch of St. George, FL, Kay Callahan of Tallahassee, FL, Leon "Tubby", Sandy Atkinson of Bainbridge, Rhonda Scott of Chesapeake, VA, Lloyd and Amy Atkinson of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Dylan, Danielle, Lindsey, Reece and Carter; and his brother Richard Atkinson. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
