It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Jean Thompson Darley (Bainbridge, Georgia), born in Decatur, Georgia, who passed away on June 16, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cary Thompson and Susie Mae Salter Thompson; her husband James Lamar Darley; her brother Cary Lester Thompson; her grandson Joey Maxwell; and her son-in-law Chub Maxwell.
She is survived by: her children, Sonny (Julie Darley), Gloria (Joe Anderson), Susan Maxwell of Whigham, GA and Lillian (Coley Voyles); her grandchildren, Rebecca (Aaron), Amanda (Patrick), Patrick (Amber), Ashley (Jeremy), Carrie (Bradley), Stephanie, William, Jennifer, Blake, Hunter and Holton; and her great grandchildren, Kaylee, Annalise, Jacob, Beau, Noah, Clara, Emmett, Amelia, Anderson, James and Caroline. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Hall and Rev. David Pickering officiating.
