She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Moreland and Myrtie Moreland; her husband James L. Helms Jr.; her daughter Vicki Helms Leger; and her siblings, Felton, Winfred Moreland and Freddie Lou Howard.
She is survived by: her children, Russell Helms (Elisha), John Helms (Diane), Marvin Helms and Diane Rountree (Vince). She is also survived by five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
