She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Noah C. Swafford and Lauretta Johns Swafford; her brother Dr. W. Roger Swafford; her husband H. Neal Sexton; and her stepdaughter Geneva R. Bailey.
She is survived by: her children, J. Charles Sexton (Linda) and Mindy Haddock Lindsey (Todd).
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory (2480 Macland Rd, Marietta, GA 30064). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Joan Sexton, 84, of Austell, Georgia was received into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 after a lengthy journey with Alzheimer's Disease.
