It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Corey Dwayne Thompson of Austell, Georgia, who passed away on January 20, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Corey Dwayne Thompson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his father Galeon Thompson; and his grandparents, Mable, Perry Thompson, Nellie Armstead and Frank Koger Sr..

He is survived by: his mother Patricia Koger Thompson; his wife Tiffany Ann Thompson; his son Carter Cy Thompson; and his brothers, DeShawn Thompson and DeShane Thompson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Austell Christian Church (5624 Edith St, Austell, GA 30106). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Corey's memory be made to KCCure (Kidney Cancer Research Alliance) at kccure.org, in acknowledgment of his courageous battle and to support the ongoing fight against kidney cancer.

“I am so sorry I could not come to the service today. Obviously I was thinking of you. I had a previous commitment with young people at Kathryn’s church to pack up her room so people can come and rip her carpet out and put in hardwood. In addition she is soon moving temporarily to Assisted living and we had to move furniture to the facility. I love you and my prayers are with you and with Corey’s family. If you ever need to talk or want to go somewhere call me. I will gladly go with you. Emily”
