He was predeceased by: his son James Hart; his parents, Virgil Hart and Carla Hart; and his siblings, Jimmy Hart and Wanda Wilkes.

He is survived by: his son Virgil E. Hart (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Cody Boynton (Carson), Virgil A. Hart, Kelsey Boynton, Cayden Hart and Jamielyn Ward.
