She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Joseph Peyton Bailey Jr.; and her parents, George P. Thomas and Pauline T. Thomas. She is survived by: her children, Joseph Peyton Bailey III (Sarah) of Augusta Georgia and Cynthia LePage Gunnels (Chris) of Augusta Georgia; her grandchildren, Margaret MacKinnon Bailey (Arturo), Christopher Bailey Gunnels, Joseph Peyton Bailey IV, Benjamin Alexander Gunnels, Patrick Thomas Gunnels, Joseph Ryan Gunnels and Abigail LePage Gunnels; and her sister Ann Thomas Sherman (Harry).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Augusta Symphony.
