He was predeceased by: his brothers, Perry C. Blanchard and Preston K. Blanchard. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Banks Blanchard; his children, Mary Brannen Blanchard and Patrick G. Blanchard, Jr. (Gretchen); his grandsons, William Blanchard Rayburn (Will), John Banks Rayburn, Patrick G. Blanchard, III and Charles Jordan Blanchard (Charlie); and his brothers, J. Pierce Blanchard, Jr. (Deborah) and Philip B. (Phil). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
