She was predeceased by: her parents, Pamela Finley Parks and Michael Finley. She is survived by: her pets, Smokey and Skooter; her sisters, Kamya Scott (James) and Nashiba Boyd (Roland); her nieces, Destinee Roach and Ivy Boyd; her nephew Roland Boyd, III; and her close friend Brittany. She is also survived by relatives, including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mikia's honor to the American Heart Association to support education and treatment of women's heart related illnesses.
