It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Godfrey of Augusta, Georgia, born in Darlington, South Carolina, who passed away on April 12, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Pandora Wilson of Hampton, GA, Joseph Carl Godfrey II (Latanceia) of San Antonio, TX and Pamela Marie Godfrey of Washington, GA.; and her siblings, Walter Hannah Jr. of Farmers Branch, TX, Vera Wright (James Jr.) of Newark, NJ and Eleanor Vigne (Jefferson) of McDonough, GA..
A reception was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Hopkins Funeral Home (416 E Robert Toombs Ave, Washington, GA 30673).
