Marsha Lynn Mathis Hughes Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 9, 2024, at the age of 74, Marsha Lynn Mathis Hughes in Augusta, Georgia, born in Avera, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Marviene Norton Mathis and William Louis Mathis. She is survived by: her children, Brooke Hughes Axon (James) and Brad Hughes; her grandchildren, Drake Axon and Ava Grace Axon; her brothers, Claude Mathis (Vianna) and Warren Mathis (Pamela); and her nieces and nephews, Wes Mathis (Connie), Kim Prater (Page), Jason Mathis (Holly) and Ashley Brown (Michael). She is also survived by family, she leaves behind a loving extended family.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (1350 Church St, Avera, GA 30803). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
