With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean L. Owen of Augusta, Georgia, born in Pendleton, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 28, 2024 at the age of 96. As Jean departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jean may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jean leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Marion C. Owen; her son Thomas Freeman Owen; and her siblings, Betty Harris, Nancy Moore and James F. Lay, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Robert M. Owen (Linda) of Huntsville, AL and Russell A. Owen (Pam); her granddaughter Katelyn Owen of Martinez, GA; and her sister Suzanne Lay Fletcher of Asheville, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
