With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jayne Garrett Black of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on February 27, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Danny Black; her parents, Horace Garrett and Elizabeth Garrett; and her siblings, Nancy Garrett Phillips, Tom Garrett and Danny Garrett.
She is survived by: her sons, Garrett Black and Christopher Black (Beth); her grandchildren, Abby Black (Steven Rice), Brett Black, Carsyn Anderson (Matt), Andrew Black, Brady Black, Teddie Garnett (Michael) and Anna Grace Black; her great grandchildren, Brody Garnett and Brynn Garnett; and her sister Dodda Waldman (David).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors (214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at the Westover Memorial Park (2601 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, GA 30904).
