He is survived by: his spouse Bobbie Wood Lawhead; his daughters, Amanda Ruth Baggott (Kirk), Katherine Lee Lawhead and Ansley Wagner Williams (David); and his siblings, Nora Maier (Glenn) of Rathdrum, ID and Bruce Lawhead of Spokane. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
