With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frances Laney Altizer in Augusta, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 17, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Jane Laney (Cooper); her son David Thomas Altizer; her husband John Thomas Altizer; and her father Levings W. Laney (Mother Jane C. Laney). She is survived by: her children, Mike Altizer (Nan) of Harpersville, AL and Karen Johnson (Collier) of Jacksonville, FL; her sister Joan Piercy (Charles); her nephews, Rod Kight (Ashley) and Ryan Kight; and her grandsons, Benjamin Johnson (Jessica) of Atlanta, GA. and Willam Johnson of Atlanta, GA..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the St. John United Methodist Church (736 Greene St, Augusta, GA 30901). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to either St. John UMC or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated.
