He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Betty Carter Moore; his parents, Luther Moore and Mattie Moore; his children, Sandy Jones, Cindy Bowen (Lowell), Alisha Brantley (Hoke), Chris Moore (Bobbie Jo), Avery Moore, Andy Moore (Charley) and Ashley Moore (Carrie); his siblings, Lamar Moore (Louise), Roger Moore (Colette) and Naomi Molchan; and his sister-in-law Marcia Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for all contributions to go to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
