It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris Bearden Scoggins of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Doris Bearden leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Bearden and Ira Ammons Bearden; her husband Earl D. Scoggins; her daughter Deborah Pearson; and her siblings, Anne Maile and Thomas Bearden.
She is survived by: her son Dennis L. Simmons (Janet) of Evans, GA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Southern Baptist Church Cemetery (140 Church St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
