He was predeceased by : his brother Jamie Best; and his grandparents, John J. Best, Helen Dilbeck Best and Jean Stencel. He is survived by : his father Jimmy Best (Sheila Stencel); his grandparents, Judy Stencel and Dale Stencel; his aunts and uncles, Scott Stencel (Shiela), Troy Stencel (Suzanne), Mark Stencel (Katy), Johnny M. Best (Bonnie), Jerry Best (Carrel), Billy Best (Martha), Sharon Lapp (Tony), Judy Wilson (Jeff) and Tammy Vick (Tater); and his niece Daphne Walker.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors (214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 18th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
