He is survived by : his children, Debra Thigpen (James), Jeff Montgomery and Diane Harrison (Bob); his grandchildren, Eric Schuster, Michael Thigpen (Sylvia), James Thigpen, Jr. (Ashley) and Chelsea Harrison; his great grandchildren, Juila Thigpen, Jackson Thigpen, Kayla Thigpen, Jenna Lee Thigpen and Anakin Thigpen; and his brother Aubrey Montgomery (Pauline).
