She was predeceased by: her former husband Charlie A. Reid, Jr.; her parents, Robert Peterson and Ella Mae Peterson; and her siblings, Flora King, Roberta Daniels and Robert Peterson, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Marcus Reid and Katrina Quinones (Jose); her grandchildren, Jayla Hightower, Marcus Reid II and Jose Quinones IV; and her sister Mamie Conway.
In 2006, she was honored with the Principal of the Year award from both the local and state Parent-Teacher Association for her outstanding contributions to the field of education.
