He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander MacDonell and Julia MacDonell. He is survived by: his wife Judith Thompson MacDonell (Judy); his children, Dr. Alexander Henry MacDonell IV (Charlotte MacDonell), Kathryn MacDonell Akin (Stephen Akin) and Dr. Robert Thompson MacDonell; his grandchildren, Alexander Henry MacDonell V, Wallace Thompson MacDonell, William Alderman MacDonell, Molly Grace Akin, Madeline Joy Akin and Samuel Thomas Akin; his brother Allen LaGarde MacDonell (Sarah); and his sister-in-law Lisa Cooper (Chris). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (642 Telfair St, Augusta, GA 30901).
