He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Milton McPherson and Annie Mae Bell Booker; his stepmother Velma Hughes McPherson; his son Laurence Milton McPherson II; his brothers, Milton Monroe McPherson and Laurence Malcolm "Larry" McPherson; his half-siblings, Raymond "Bay" Booker and Angeline Booker Wynn; and his stepchildren, Randy Rhyne, Cindy Wilson and Cathy Rhyne.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Rhyne McPherson; his daughters, Lisa Adair (John) and Mary Beth McPherson (Zed Johnson); his siblings, Anna Laura Brown and Jimmy McPherson (June); his half-brother Robert "Butch" Booker (Patricia); his grandson Miles Johnson; and his stepchildren, Jeff Rhyne, Brandy Mosteller and Misty Rhyne. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and two step-great grandchildren.
