Richard Fernald wrote a sympathy message

“Gail and family, I was blessed to have met Hank on the tennis court with a group of locals players 14 years ago. In those 14 years, this group became family. Hank was a jewel, a great tennis player and easy man to talk to. As veteran and a retired teacher, I loved all the stories he shared. Hank being a WWII veteran really interested me and he shared things like a historian. This tennis player and friend was never at loss a loss for words. Hank thanks for the memories. RIP”
