He is survived by: his wife Sissy McCown; his children, Ellie (David Johnson) and John Jr. (Kate McCown); his siblings, Carolyn, Buddy LaBorde, Mac, Nina McCown and Martha Owens; and his grandchildren, David James Johnson, Sarah Kate Johnson, Caroline Johnson, Gracie Johnson, Mary Ella McCown, Jack McCown and Ashlyn McCown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
