It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Hartzog of Attapulgus, Georgia, born in Donalsonville, Georgia, who passed away on June 23, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father James Cleveland Hartzog. He is survived by: his mother Myra Fleming Hartzog; his wife Frances Hartzog; his children, Garrett Thomas Hartzog of Attapulgus, Sharon (Lance Hines), Vickie Sexton of Tallahassee and Christopher (Adriana Tramel); and his brother Steve Hartzog (Jane) of Columbus, GA. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Burrell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
