He was predeceased by: his mother Rhoda Berk Hassett; and his brother Matthew Xavier Hassett. He is survived by: his father James Patrick Hassett (Dora) of Atlanta; his wife Anne Mobley Hassett; his daughters, Sarah Mobley Hassett and Charlotte Lawton Hassett of Atlanta; and his sister Jill Hassett of Vero Beach, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions bemade in Steve's name to the American Cancer Society.
