She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie Maud Moon and James Rice; her sons, Howard Sterling Jr. and Felton Sterling; her husband Milton Stokes; her siblings, Madeline Rice and Bernard Rice; her nephew Ronnie Rice; and her niece Beverly Rice.
She is survived by: her brother Willie Moon; her sister-in-law Betty Rice; her stepdaughter Claudia Ward; her grandson Denson Sterling; her nieces, Victoria Holloway, Tara Hill and Aungelique Allen; and her nephew Terrance Rice I. She is also survived by great-nieces and great-nephews, along with several other relatives and friends.
