With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Juanita W. Young (Atlanta, Georgia), born in Roberta, Georgia, who passed away on May 25, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Taylor Wornum and Willie Mae Wornum (Dillard); her son Karl Young; and her siblings, J. B. Wornum, Rufus Wornum of Albert Wornum, M. B, Hollis Wornum, Viola Bakon, Rose Wornum, Corene Brown, Ernestine Allen and Beatrice Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Floyd Young of Widefield, Colorado; her siblings, Mavis Lakes and Taylor Wornum (Eva Wornum) of Boston, Massachusetts; her daughters, Gail Malone (Glenn Malone) and Juanda Cooper (Melvin Cooper); her goddaughter Zakia Al-Ghuiyy; her grandchildren, Chaunci Brown (Roderick Brown), James Mayberry II (Eunysha Mayberry), Karl Mayberry, Kali Malone, Celina Mayberry, Ayofini Mayberry, Tobi Malone, Ian Malone, Janee Green, Javaris Cooper (Chelsey) and Morgan Harris (Micheal); her great grandchildren, Herasanna Schoenknecht, Elisha Mayberry, Gabrielle Hays, Darin Hays, Julian Hays, Takia Mayberry, Jasmine Lewis, Dominik Lewis, Isaiah Malone, Francesca Brown, Roderick Brown Jr. and Alexandria Brown; and her great great grandchildren, Eliza Mayberry, Amir Hays and Isabel Hays. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
