He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Cross and Bernice Cross; his former spouse Mimms Stevenson; and his siblings, James L. Cross and Maureen Ramsey.
He is survived by: his wife Claire Armentrout; his children, John J. Cross III (Meredith) of Milford, CT, Thomas Cross (Janet), Mildred Spalding (John) and William Cross (Lynn) of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Joseph Cross (Rachel), Mimms, Thomas, Charlie Cross, Jack Spalding, Holly Spalding (Matt), Mimi Cross and Henry Cross (Lily); his great grandchildren, Leland and Mae Cross; and his sister Charlene Baumgarten (Harry). He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
