She is survived by: her children, Carlos Kent and Lisa Ruiz (Jason Ruiz); her stepchildren, Reginald McBride, Keith Washington, Chantay Brown-Oaks and Ketuana Evans; her siblings, Alvin Bacon (Joanne Bacon), Comanceda Brown (Stanley Brown), Joyce Carroll and Janice Bacon; her siblings-in-law, Catherine Roberson, Handy B. Huntley, Maxine Macon (John Macon Sr.), Manda Boyd (Larry Boyd) and Loretta West; her grandchildren, Dominique Corbett (Xavier Corbett), Trinity Ruiz and Carmen Ruiz; and her stepgranddaughter Ashley Oaks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society for the fight against ovarian cancer in her memory.
