In loving memory of Joanne M. Darko of Atlanta, Georgia, born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on August 10, 2024 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her parents, William J. Mitchell and Marie A. Mitchell (Moore); her husband John T. Darko; her daughters, Kathleen Darko and Laura Kresses; and her siblings, Dr. William J. Mitchell, Shirley Prosperi, Marlene Pepper and Liao Miawshyang.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Darko and John V. Darko; her sons-in-law, Bart Kresses and Tom Embry; and her grandsons, Eli and Andrew Kresses (Nichol Ihrie). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be greatly appreciated.
