With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Cunningham Harper Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, born in Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on August 17, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain James C. Harper and Charlotte Critz Harper (Eleanor Warren Harper); his siblings, Lucy Harper Grier, George Finley Harper and Charlotte Harper Stone; his brother-in-law Garland Glenn Warren, Jr.; and his nephew James Harper Grier (Katherine) of Charlotte, NC.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Warren of Mount Airy; his siblings-in-law, John Warren (Paula Warren) of Boise and Jean Warren of Lake Placid; his niece Frances Harper Davis of Winston Salem, NC; his great-nephew John Harper (Jennifer) of Austin Texas; and his grandchildren, Emma, Reese Davis, Elizabeth, James IV, John Harper and Collin Harper.
