He was predeceased by: his brothers, Tom and Jimmy; his wife Mary Kathrine Trimble Wooten; his granddaughter Patrina Shermease Turner; his son Willie Wooten; and his brothers, Rev. O. W. Christopher of Rossville, GA and Michael Frank Wooten of Chattanooga, TN.
He is survived by: his children, Peggie Wooten Turner (Sherman) of Atlanta, GA and Derrick Van Wooten (Genita) of Douglasville, GA; his sister Helen Betty Grimes of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Brutis Finney of San Antonio, TX and Patrick Montgomery of Trion, GA; his sister-in-law Betty Jean Wooten of LaFayette, GA; and also, Ella White Stamper and Buddy (Robert Stamper). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
