George Thomas Alexander Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Thomas Alexander (Atlanta, Georgia), who passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas John and Bessie Alexander; his wife Betty Routsos of Atlanta; and his sister Lee Demas of Lanham. He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Alexander and Stephen; his daughter-in-law Celeste Alexander; his grandson Ian Alexander of Atlanta; his sisters, Agnes Petropoulos of Middletown, RI and Bette; his siblings-in-law, Charles Roditakis of North Attleboro and Stephanie Peppas of Atlanta; and his caregivers, Barbara Hambrick, Denease Glover and Marcus Carter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Patterson's Oglethorpe Hill (4550 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30319). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral (2500 Clairmont Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329).
In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to the Endowment Fund of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, 2500 Clairmont Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
