He was predeceased by: his mother Willie Ann Brewer; and his brother Edgar Carter. He is survived by: his children, Quanis Shelton, Bryant Shelton, Tangela Shelton and Jazzaria Carter; his grandchildren, Dharrin Mitchell, Jabryia Shelton, Ayden Shelton, Taylor Shelton and I'Nayla Green; and his sisters, Cepada Carter Martin (Lydell) and Chevelle Carter. He is also survived by his stepchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and other family and friends.
