He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher Coombs, Sr. and Pearl Floyd Coombs; and his wife Helen Grimes Coombs. He is survived by: his siblings, Wallace James and Blanche C. Shropshire; his daughters, Kei C. Breedlove and Toni C. Burns, MD; his grandson John Fletcher Breedlove (Shanel); his great grandchildren, Taylor, Brody, Grace and Vivian; his nieces, Janis Coombs Reid, Angelet Coombs, Karen Shropshire Yancey, Pamela Shropshire and Jennifer Shropshire; and his nephew Lawrence Shropshire. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to his beloved church, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Atlanta, or to his beloved alma mater, Morehouse College, Atlanta.
