She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter W. Walker and Minnie Benefield Walker; her husband Joseph P. Suttles, Sr.; and her siblings, Ralph Walker, George Walker, Russell Walker, Gladys Walker Jones, Helen Walker Estes and Mae Walker Stewart.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph P. Suttles, Jr. and Valeria Suttles Myers; her grandchildren, Nicholas A. Myers and Charlotte Myers Howell; and her great grandchild Virginia Howell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
