She was predeceased by: her parents, John David Gates and Margaret Eugene Witherspoon Gates. She is survived by: her spouse Jay Ridenhower; her brothers, David Gates of Pascagula and Darryl Gates of Gulf Breeze, Florida; her children, Christy Cooke (Jeff) of Thomasville and Michael Ridenhower of Miami, Florida; and her grandchildren, Lilly Cooke, Isaiah Cooke and Jendra Maker.
