She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Benjamin Stephenson and Montine Sanders Stephenson; her husband H. A. "Buddy" Shadden; and her siblings, Sara Howington, Carlene Finger, Lon Anderson, Harold Stephenson, Tena Kincaid, Earleze Sorrow and Paul Stephenson.
She is survived by: her sons, Hugh Avery Shadden, Jr. (Rita), Joseph Alan Shadden and David Andrew Shadden; her grandson Stephen Avery Shadden; her stepgranddaughter Stephanie Mitchell Carter; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Grayson and Emma Carter.
